class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h3>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es una enfermedad rara?<\/h3>\n<p>Poco o nada conocemos de estas enfermedades denominadas raras, por minoritarias e infrecuentes. Y sin embargo, existen m\u00e1s de 7000 y cualquiera<b> de nosotros puede desarrollarlas.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Las <b>Enfermedades Raras<\/b>, incluidas las de origen gen\u00e9tico, son aquellas enfermedades con peligro de muerte o de invalidez cr\u00f3nica, que tienen una frecuencia o prevalencia baja (menor de 5 casos por cada 10.000 habitantes), seg\u00fan la definici\u00f3n de la Uni\u00f3n Europea.<\/p>\n<p>Hay estimadas m\u00e1s de <b>3.000.000 de personas en Espa\u00f1a<\/b>, afectadas por enfermedades poco conocidas.<\/p>\n<p>Hoy en d\u00eda, existe <b>falta de respuesta m\u00e9dica y serios problemas de diagn\u00f3stico.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3>Objetivos<\/h3>\n<p>La <b>FUNDACI\u00d3N ISABEL GEMIO para la Investigaci\u00f3n de Distrofias Musculares y otras Enfermedades Raras<\/b> dirige sus esfuerzos inicialmente a los siguientes aspectos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>La financiaci\u00f3n y el fomento de aperturas de <b>Proyectos de Investigaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica para el estudio de las enfermedades raras.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Contribuci\u00f3n a la formaci\u00f3n de investigadores y profesionales<\/b>. somos raros, Todos somos \u00fanicos\u00a0\u00bb <a href=\"http:\/\/www.todossomosraros.es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.todossomosraros.es<\/a> junto con la Federaci\u00f3n ASEM y FEDER con el apoyo activo del Ministerio de Sanidad, Asuntos Sociales e Igualdad en el marco del A\u00f1o Nacional de las Enfermedades Raras.
